Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty today vetoed the medical marijuana bill just passed by the Minnesota Legislature. The Senate passed the bill on May 4, and on Monday, the House followed after that; this is the first time a MM bill got through in Minnesota.
However the Governor has been threatening a veto all along and the House tried to find common ground to agree. The bill was watered down to just protecting terminally ill patients but then the Governor vetoed that too.
The Governor is supposed to speak for the people however every recent poll has 2 to 1 support for Medical Marijuana.
